Thursday, March 26, 2009 Ovary Update So, I've talked with the gyno again, and we've agreed on a treatment plan that does not include Metformin. For now. What we're going to try is Yaz birth control to see if that will regulate things period-wise. However, if I have the same problems as I've had previously with the pill (I bleed and bleed and bleed), there are a few other versions of the pill that I can try. If I bleed for more than 7 days straight, we'll switch perscriptions. If none of that works, I'll be seeing the reproductive endocrinologist in Denver. In the meantime, while on the pill, I'm going to work out more and try to lose a few pounds, because that can help also. But we did agree, before I start anything like Metformin, I would see the specialist in Colorado. This makes me feel much more comfortable about things, especially given the potential side affects of Metformin and the facts of colitis. So that's good news. In other good news, I was named as one of the top 40 young professionals under 40 in Wyoming. This is super exciting. There was an article in the Casper Star-Tribune; however, they don't post any special features on-line, so I can't link to it. But if you want a copy, let me know and I'll email it out. I also discovered the funniest thing online: Modern Drunkard magazine. :) A handful of drinks and you suddenly feel the world could well benefit from your exalted presence!
