![]() Saturday, February 21, 2009 General Updatedness I guess I'm due for a general blog update, and today's a good day to update as it's the day before I start my colonoscopy prep. Although I am as prepared as I can be to drink a gallon of assorted laxatives--I have plenty of toilet paper and an assortment of clear liquids so I can adhere to my liquid diet requirements tomorrow. I also have a big bag of ice and plenty of frosty pint glasses in the freezer to chug down all of that liquid and pills and laxatives. Woo! But I am doing pretty well in my New Year's Resolution--I saw the doctor when I wasn't sick, and I'm going through all of the follow-up stuff. I followed up on the back pain issue with x-rays and I have a physical therapy appointment. I'm sure that the breast reduction is coming, but I have to go through the physical therapy options first before the insurance will think of covering it. I also have an appointment with the gyno in two weeks. It's time to get healthy, and I'm working on that. I'm also working on job options and researching my options to go back to school. The economy in Sheridan is slowing down--everyone is battening down the hatches in preparation for the national economic downturn to hit the state. I've found two very viable job options, one in Sheridan and one in Laramie. I've applied for both and now it's time to wait and see. I think I have a great chance for both jobs, and I'd take either if offered one. I'm also looking at options for grad school--might as well max out the student loans when the economy is bad, right? Goddard College has introduced a MA program in Socially Responsible Business and Sustainable Communities, which would be a great fit for what I'm doing in economic development. Plus, it's low residency, so I can keep a job while going to school. And I can complete the degree, complete Economic Development Institute and have some really awesome credentials and experience in two years, when the economy is hopefully better. I can complete my application in time for the deadline on the 27th, complete my taxes at the beginning of the week and complete my FAFSA to try to catch some federal dollars. Everything is due on the 27th, so I'm going to work on that this week and skip doing actual work. :) If I call asking for a recommendation, please give me a good one! posted by jaime | 8:42 PM 1 comments |
