![]() Monday, December 13, 2004 It's Gonna Be A Long Week I finished interviews at two different clinics Tuesday of last week. I shadowed at both places, one Saturday (early early morning--I was up at 5:30 am on a Saturday) and one today (not so early--I was up at 7 am). Now, I wait. I should hear back about the office manager position at the dairy cow vet by Monday of next week at the latest. I really, really want that job. It's in Hagerstown, it's a managerial position, it's salaried, I'd be challenged to learn about dairy cows and large animal medicine while trying to be a manager. However, there were a lot of applicants for the job, some of whom have experience working with large animals. I'm hoping that I showed them that I'm a quick learner, I'm polite, friendly, and that my lack of large animal experience is just going to make me work harder. I know that I have the job at the small animal place. I was told that I do, unless my references didn't check out (they will check out because I'll start kicking ass if they don't check out). It's about an hour's drive, slightly less money, and I would be a manager--but I'd have half of the responsibilities that I have now. I really want something different, and I'm not sure this will be as much of a change as I'm looking for. But if it's the only offer that I have after next week, I will be taking it. I'll probably also keep sending out resumes. I hate having to wait to see if I get the job that I really really want. If only they would just call me and tell me right now that I've got the job. That'd be awesome. posted by jaime | 8:00 PM 0 comments |
