Sunday, August 08, 2004 I'm Sick I'm not talking about my usual evilness or something gross at work. I actually am sick. I can prove it; I went to the ER last night. I woke up last night at about 3:30 or 4 am because my stomach hurt. I could feel my stomach contract up into a giant cramp and relax again. I didn't feel too bad though, just thought that maybe it was too much stomach acid or something, and I went downstairs to get some antacid. By the time I made it downstairs, I knew things were going to be much worse. I remember hugging the downstairs toilet, going upstairs to wake my parents to take me to the ER, then being admitted into the hospital. After a few hours in the hospital on IV fluids, anti-vomiting meds, and pain relievers, I was discharged. They said that I either had a stomach flu or food poisoning. I've spent most of the day today sleeping, only now getting up to have some ginger ale and chicken broth. This is hopefully the last thing in a string of bodily hurts. Friday I was bitten by a cat, my own cat, Baldric. Little bugger managed to get outside (he went out with the dog) and ran off. I looked and looked for him; mom had all of the neighbors helping to search for him. I got home from work and looked for him; couldn't find him. As I was headed into the house, I heard a cat fight. I ran toward the sounds and saw Baldric under a bush of a neighbor's house. He hissed, but came a little closer. I called my dad for him to bring a towel so I could try to grab Baldric and when I got off the phone, Baldric turned to run. I grabbed for him to scruff him, missed, grabbed his tail; he turned around and bit my finger. He's home safe though (and has been to the vets for an exam, rabies booster, microchip, and leukemia and FIV test). I did sprain his tail when I grabbed it, but at least he's not kitty roadkill. Prior to that incident, Tuesday I took Cinnamon out for a walk at River Bottom. I was intending to walk a mile or two on the towpath; instead, we walked about 6-7 miles. I was wearing sandals and they rubbed a huge blister on my foot. I also got a rock in my shoe, which cut the blister, making for one very painful foot. That's a lot of very icky ouchy stuff and hopefully, no more will happen. But for now, I'm going back to bed. posted by jaime | 3:35 PM 0 comments |
