Sunday, April 11, 2004 Let The Packing Begin! The cleaning at my parents house is well underway--I have a clean bathroom, and an almost-clean bedroom. So, I've started my adventures in packing here. I've got all of my candles and decorative glass items packed up, as well as all of my books. In packing up my books, a little scrap of paper fell out. When I picked it up, it was a note from Andy from years before, with his summer address and phone number and email address on it, telling me to keep in touch. I can't believe that I still have that piece of paper, that I'm moving yet again, that I've packed the same books so many times over so many years. Strangely, I feel good about this move, that it's the right thing to do right now. Finding that note just seemed to reinforce that. I don't quite understand it, but instead of making me feel sad about Andy's death, it just made me feel good. So with a smile, I tucked it back into a book, to discover it again on another day. Ooh! Ooh! I also have another reason to brag about the boy. Last night, I made a feast--2 roasted chickens, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, glazed carrots....needless to say there was a ton of dishes afterward. Garrett not only helped me clear the table and put the leftovers away, but he also washed and rinsed the dishes so I could dry them and put them away. No guy has ever helped me with dishes before, and I was so glad that he did. He's so sweet....I'm so lucky. :) posted by jaime | 4:53 PM 0 comments |
