Tuesday, May 20, 2003 Thanks, Aud, For Letting The Cat Out Of The Bag Okay, so most of you know that I'm the proud momma of a new kitten. If you don't know this, I am the proud momma of a new kitten. His name is Captain Morgan (there's a sign that I drink too much). I got him from, where else, the vet's office. He's an orange tiger kitten (with cute little buff colored stripes) with blue eyes. He's about 4 weeks old. Someone had brought him in to be euthanized--they had found a litter of kittens and he was the worst of the bunch. He had a very bad eye infection, and his right eye was completely swollen shut. One of the doctors volunteered to try to help the kitten and somehow, I got sucked into fostering it for a weekend. After waking up with him every two hours to feed him and put medicine in his eyes, I kind of got attached to the little bastard. He is cute in a pathetic cycloptic pirate sort of way. And if I left him at the vet's office, they would have named him One-Eyed Willy. But, his eye is healing. It's not as swollen, and he does have an eye in the socket. It's blue. It does have a cornea intact, so there is a good possibility of him regaining his sight. I'll know more on Friday when he goes in for a recheck. Captain Morgan also had a big moment today. He took his first unassisted poopy. He pooped three huge inch long turds, and he probably pooped something equivilent to his weight. But he did go without me having to massage his ass with a warm washcloth, so I'm proud. That's about all that's going on in my little world. Being up every two hours is really tiring. Oh...and thanks, Beth.
