![]() Wednesday, March 05, 2003 Heads Are Gonna Roll So...the doctors have decided to stay open during lunch so that people can come in and pick up food or prescriptions or whatnot. Good idea. Who is working during this time? Merry. Bad idea. Why? Because Merry can't even manage to work her own shift, let alone an extra hour and a half. Day one, Monday. I arrive at work at 1:20 pm, ten minutes before my shift starts. As soon as Merry sees me, as well as the other person, my partner in crime for the evening, Merry immediately asks which one of us she can call to work for her on the days that she can't stay. Well, actually, Merry, you shouldn't call either of us. Because if you can't do this, then you aren't reliable and there are other people that are reliable and do want the hours. So, fuck off. She asks her question, and when we go to get our bag out of the drawer to count it, she's gone. Quick little bugger. She was out of there at 1:22 pm, leaving 8 minutes before her shift was to end. Now, mind you, we didn't get to count out our drawer or sign it out in the ledger. And the doors are unlocked so we don't want to count the drawer out up front, but we have no choice. We can't take it to the back and count because that would leave no money in the drawer and no one up front to wait on customers. We just start our shift and come to the decision to come in earlier, grab the bag, take it to an exam room and count it out. Now, fast forward to day 2. We come in, and I go up to get the bag. Merry is waiting, and tells me that since the office manager isn't there, I need to count her deposit to verify it. Well, that's not my job. I didn't work in the morning and I'm not responsible for her deposit. But I count it, and before I can say that it's there, she's in the parking lot in her car. Bitch. So, now we have another day where the bag wasn't signed out or counted. And another day where she leaves her shift about 10 minutes early. I'm going to add in a little bit of a side note here before continuing this tale. In the past, we've had problems with money missing out of the safe and money missing out of deposit evelopes or envelopes of money for one of the doctor's large animal practice or payments from employees. Only the doctors and the office managers are to have the combination to the safe. In the past, before we stayed open for lunch, one of the doctors or the office manager would get the night bag out of the safe, wait til Merry had closed out, put the bag in the cash drawer and lock it. But now the cash drawer has to be unlocked for Merry to continue to use during lunch, so our night bag is left in there, in an unlocked drawer with her. Now, back to our tale. This evening, when I counted out the deposit and the night bag, I found that I was missing $20. $20 even. Everything else was correct. No mistakes were made in ringing clients out. But since I didn't get to count out the drawer, I didn't know how much money I started out with. But the total of the drawer last night was right on, so I assume that when the night bag was put into the drawer before everyone left for lunch it was right on. Meaning that something may have happened while the bag was in the drawer. Merry is the only person up front and there is only one other person in the building--a tech--who was checking on animals after surgery and cleaning things up. So there is a tech in the back, Merry up front (and there has been money missing during her shifts before) and plenty of opportunity. I assume that you know where this is going. And that's exactly what I told the doctors. I am furious that that thieving bitch still works there. I am pissed that she got the time to work through lunch when she isn't even as fucking reliable as a Yugo on a good day. I hope that someone shat on that $20 if she took it and that she gets a paper cut from it and it gets infected and she dies a long slow painful death. Stupid fucking cunt. And to revive a good insult, she's a fucking hoser. posted by jaime | 12:07 AM 0 comments |
