![]() Friday, September 15, 2006 Blogging Miami Ian and I had a wonderful time in South Beach, Miami last weekend. We were in the heart of the Art Deco district, surrounded by ultra-mod buildings and archietechure (or however you spell it). We stayed here and it was fabulous--purple rooms, mod furniture, a private garden, a beautiful lobby, a kick-ass vintage elevator, and a block from the beach. We walked up and down Ocean Drive, along the beaches and boardwalk, and all over town. Enjoyed lots of great food and beach time (yes, I was a beach bum and I liked it!). We had such a fun time in such a gorgeous place. It's very much a night-life town, and everyone is very cool and relaxed. We've decided that we liked it so much that we're going to move there. Ian is working on a transfer with the post office and finding an apartment; I'm trying to find us both new jobs (because he really doesn't want to work with the PO any longer than he has to). We're hoping to have made the move within the next 2-3 months. Don't think of it as us leaving the area; think of it as gaining a new fabulous vacation spot! I'll keep everyone updated on the status of things. I'm excited. I can't wait to spend hours working with resumes and cover letters and trying to coordinate interviews from hundreds of miles away. I can't wait to pack up all of my stuff to start lugging it southward and beachward. And I can't wait to make this move with such a wonderful boyfriend. :) Yeah, I'm getting sappy in my old age. But I'm also getting to Miami. I win! :) posted by jaime | 10:02 PM 0 comments |
