Thursday, March 24, 2005   Update Is it possible to feel worse after seeing the doctor? Seriously, I feel more like ass today than I did yesterday. My antibiotic makes me nauseous. My cough suppressant makes me dizzy and loopy and makes my nose stuffy. I can't just not take either of them, because I'll never get rid of this infection or stop coughing (and therefore stop vomiting, since about half of the time I cough up something, I vomit too). I have a headache and my chest hurts and I can't sleep and I'm tired of lugging a box of tissues and a trash can around with me to deal with the mass amounts of biohazard that I'm producing. I did go into work for 3 hours tonight; while I was there, I made use of the PDR that is in the office. Since I feel so much like ass, I want to try to do something about it. However, I don't want to die because of some weird drug interaction. So I did some sleuthing--I can take the antibiotic and cough suppressant with some ibuprofen and antihistamine and antacid without risking spontaneous combustion. Yay for being able to medicate my symptoms! And on the way home, I stopped by the chinese restaurant for some chicken rice soup. That is the only thing that actually sounds edible to me right now. Not homemade chicken rice soup, mind you, but the stuff from the chinese restaurant. Only that will do, and I have enough for the weekend. So yay for that! I'm off to take more medicines and re-enter my state of drug-induced stupor. Hopefully, I will emerge feeling better before the weekend's end. Sick I went to the doctor for the first time in two years. I'm sick. So sick that I left work early, willingly. So sick that I called the doctor, willingly. Since Wednesday, I had been coughing up my lungs, often coughing so hard that I'd vomit. My throat hurt from coughing so much. And I just felt achy and weak. So after spending some time with the people doctor, and $60 in medications later--I have bronchitis. I have an antibiotic and a prescription cough suppressant (suppresses all other functions too--so sleepy). I should feel better soon, and it won't be soon enough. I'm tired of coughing and my throat hurts too much to talk. And damn, I'm sick of vomiting. posted by jaime | 8:09 PM 0 comments
