![]() Saturday, March 01, 2003 Don't Fear The Reaper So, I was at work on Friday night. Nothing new about that. But Friday was the end of the month, so that means that it takes extra long to close out the computer system and to send bills out to deadbeats, I mean, customers who for some reason or other have a balance with us. Everyone in the office stayed later, and we ordered in pizza. One of my co-workers brought her daughter over for the rest of the evening. Now, I'm not keen on children, but this kid is about 10 or 11 and knows the meaning of P.I.T.A. (pain in the ass) and does well to avoid that label. Well, she's been in the office before and she knows all of the staff. She even has nicknames for everyone, and that night, she proceeded to go around the room and announce everyone's nickname--Mr. I Love Lucy (Kenny), Feather (Heather), Freak (Jessica), Dr. Big Man (Dr. H.)...etc. She gets to me, looks directly at me and I immediately say that I know that she doesn't have a nickname for me. She looks down at the ground, then over to her mom and whispers loudly to her mom to remind her what my nickname is. Her mom whispers back to her to call me "The Grim Reaper." So the kid jumps out of her chair, points at me, and yells "You're the grim raper! That's your nickname!" So, folks...how've you been? Good? Glad to hear it. Don't be afraid. It won't hurt. Much. *Wink Wink* posted by jaime | 10:05 PM 0 comments |
